An interactive sconce that uses a mini thermal camera to display a pixelated heat map. Hand built from welded sheet metal, acrylic, microcontroller, and LEDs.
The Vanishing Point lamp is a small scale interactive lighting installation in the form of a wall sconce. A small thermal camera tracks changes in heat and displays the corresponding data on an 8x8 grid of diffused LEDs. As users approach the piece they are able to interact with the light using only body heat.
Displayed as part of NYC Design week 2021 at the Radiator show.
